Imperial 34 Years Old - Director's Special - Bottled by Single Malts Of Scotland "Elixir Distillers" - 41.1% abv.
Only 162 bottles were produced from a single barrel of Imperial Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which was aged for more than 34 years. Imperial closed its doors for the final time in 1998. Increasingly hard to find, its soft and juicy style is sought after by malt fans around the world.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR: Burnt Amber
NOSE: A warming aromatic vanilla and cardamom custard with a background hint of finely cut mint and basil leaves. A thicker, denser feel forms with notes of hazelnut praline and cocoa nibs, offset by rich peach juice and elderflower cordial.
PALATE: At first delicate and poised with flavours of mint and eucalyptus, but the sweetness builds and the feel becomes syrupy with honeydew melon and vanilla cream. Rich tones of raspberry and sweetened milk are tempered by tarragon and rosemary.
FINISH: The herbaceous side dominates the finish followed by lingering rich peach juice.
